The Black Hill Reserve Circuit Track is an easy 3.9 km walk around the reserve with beautiful views of the surrounding bushland and properties. We saw plenty of kangaroos with children in tow. There is a potential to see a variety of wildlife if you tread carefully. (The Ridge Walk is found at the same location but is more challenging). There are maps located at the entrance of the walk, which you can take with you.

Where: Black Hill Reserve is on the outskirts of Kyneton and does head down a dirt road. The easiest way to get there is to type 110 Black Hill School Road into your GPS. This will take you directly to the carpark. (Searching for Black Hill Reserve may direct you to a reserve with the same name in Ballarat!).
The best bit: This is a wonderful, easy family walk. The kids loved walking with the map and checking with the landmarks to see how far we had travelled.
Picnic or cafe: There are no cafes within walking distance. We suggest you pack a picnic or head to Kyneton before or after your walk. There is a picnic table about halfway around the track.
Toilets: There are no toilets at the reserve so make sure everyone goes before jump in the car.
Make a day of it: Visit the Kyneton Community Park. Hit up any of the lovely local cafes in Kyneton. If you visit on the second Saturday of the month, you can check out the Kyneton Farmers’ Market too.
