Hi there! My name is Kat and I am a local writer with a background in education. I have lived in the the Macedon Ranges and surrounds for almost all of my life and have been a mum for the last twelve years. My main loves are my family, the beautiful area that I live in, and writing. The Macedon Ranges Mumma blog allows me to enjoy all of these.
I love getting out and about with my brood and enjoying the stunning environment, cafes, parks and markets on offer in our shire. When I was a child, my father worked for a domestic airline and we had extended family who lived in New South Wales and Queensland. This meant I was able to experience every corner of our amazing country from a young age. We also did plenty of long drives and camping. I’ve been to many magnificent places in Australia and abroad but I have a particular soft spot for our Macedon Ranges mountains and the gorgeous towns in the vicinity.
My kids are growing up but I remember as a younger mum, how it was tricky to find a list of local, affordable and child friendly activities in the one place. The goal of this blog is to meet this need. I am also a huge advocate for caring for our local environment, sustainability and understanding between cultures. If you visit our beautiful natural wonders, I ask that you go gently, leave only footprints and take only memories.
Macedon Ranges Mumma is mainly a one-woman show so I welcome your feedback and suggestions. Between my copywriting business, Macedon Ranges Writers, and my children’s extra curricular activities, I don’t get out in the shire nearly as much as I would like. I truly appreciate the kind words, tips on local activities I have missed, and any suggestions.
