Galaxy Park, Sunbury

What: The original Galaxy Park was recently updated with new equipment and facilities. There are two distinct sides of the park, one for younger kids and one for older kids. Some of the equipment includes: two flying foxes, a big swing, a half basketball court, in-ground trampolines, a climbing frame, a tall tower with two tunnel slides coming off it, swings and a spinning ride.

Where: If you follow Evans Street in the main town centre in the direction towards Target, through the intersection and continue on up Jackson’s Hill, (the road’s name changes to Belleview Drive), the park is on your right. You can’t miss it. Galaxy Park is also in Google Maps.

The best bit: The older kids loved the tower that had two tunnel slides coming off them. The younger kids loved the junior play area and multi-directional swing.

Picnic or cafe: There is a covered barbecue area and plenty of tables, benches and grassy spots to have a picnic. If you didn’t have time to bring food from home, there is a FoodWorks across the road from the Galaxy Park, where you could always pop in for some snacks. Otherwise there are many lovely cafes in Sunbury to eat at before or after you visit the park.

Toilets: There is a toilet block on site that is large enough to take your pram in easily and has automatic doors, and a nappy change table.

Make a day of it: While you are in Sunbury you might like to check out beautiful Fresh Air Fun destinations like: The Nook, Spavin Drive Dam or Emu Bottom Wetlands.
