There’s one week until Father’s Day but don’t despair. If you haven’t got the main men in your life a gift yet, there are plenty of places in the Macedon Ranges and surrounds to purchase something special.
There are many amazing local businesses and we have not been sponsored to list any of these stores. We have tried to list places that are a little different and from as many towns across the Macedon Ranges and surrounds as we could. We have also taken note of stores the community has recommended to us.
(Whatever you buy, we hope you consider purchasing from a local business or market. There are many delightful bookstores, gift shops and gardening stores in the Macedon Ranges. You might also like to order a voucher from a favourite restaurant, winery or day spa).
Here are ten stores we thought you would love to hear about:
Country Chic HD, Romsey: If you are after a meaningful, personalised gift, look no further than Country Chic. From mugs and door mats to cheese boards, aprons and t-shirts, there is something to suit every taste or need. You can order online but because they are local you can order as late as this Wednesday for some gifts if you can pick them up.
The Field Store, Lancefield: One of Lancefield’s best kept secrets, rumour has it that you could spend an entire day in this beautiful store once inside. There is clothing, homewares and gifts galore. You are sure to find something special for the man in your life.
Boardgame Goblin, Sunbury: This is the place to go if your dad is a collector or board game enthusiast. There is something for everyone. Give Dad a gift that the whole family will enjoy playing together!
Old Skool Foods, Macedon Ranges: If your dad is a foodie and loves to make all things delicious, consider giving him an experience from these guys. Book Dad into a salami or sausage making class and you can all benefit from his new skills!
Ric’s Convenience Store, Riddells Creek: Also referred to as ‘Ric’s servo’, this store has a bit of everything: DVDs, gifts and homemade cards as well as the essentials like fuel, gas and ice. It is known as the local place to find a good pressie. Buy Dad a gift when you are filling up your car. It is definitely convenient!
La Sierra, Mount Macedon: For the dad who loves a good jumper to keep him toasty on those cold Ranges mornings, head to La Sierra. This clothing range made from alpaca fibres is sustainable, follows fair trade principles and is luxuriously warm.
Snapshot Photos, Gisborne: Come in and let the staff assist you in finding the perfect frame for your print, or to create a gorgeous photo book for Dad. Support a local business instead of a big brand online and get a more personal service to boot.
Magnum Signs, New Gisborne: Magnum Signs offer a variety of services including vehicle wraps, signs and custom framing. Get Dad something different this year and (with his permission!) get a special wrap for his car, or have a sign made for his Man Cave.
Mort & Pestle, Woodend: Your bound to find the perfect gift for a Foodie Dad from this beautiful store. There is an endless selection of kitchen collectables that will have your dad cooking up a storm.
Art on Piper, Kyneton: If you have a dad who loves art, you might consider taking him to this delightful gallery and letting him choosing some artwork to add to his collection.
Have we missed one of your favourite shops in the Ranges? Let us know.
We hope all your dads and grandpas have a wonderful Father’s Day next week and if you buy something locally, we would love to hear about it!
