Fourth Saturday of the month, (third Saturday in December) from 9 am until 1 pm
This Macedon Ranges original farmers’ market offers a diverse selection of local and regional produce. The market goes ahead every month – rail, hail or shine.
Where: This market is happily situated in the centre plantation on High Street, Lancefield. The market stalls follows the tree line around this flat rectangular grassed area. One side of these is flanked with carparks. Feel very lucky if you manage to grab one of these! If not, there are usually plenty in the nearest side street. The market is very easy to navigate with an occasional step up or down if you’re shopping with a pram.
The best bit: There is a lovely atmosphere with the buzz of activity beneath the beautiful towering trees. There are tables and chairs at either end of the market. You can sit and have your coffee or delicious spring roll after you have finished your shopping. If you don’t score a carpark on the plantation edge, there are usually plenty in the nearest side street.
Make a day of it: Head to the brilliant Romsey Ecotherapy Park playground after you have hit up the market. Or visit some of the great local eateries in Lancefield and Romsey.
