First Saturday of the month, 9 am – 1 pm
At the end of the main street of Woodend, just before you head out of the town centre, you will find this small but lively market snugly curving its way around the outside of the local library. Despite being the smallest of all the markets, it still has plenty of stalls of produce to choose from: fruit and veg, hot food, honey, freshly baked bread, jams and gluten free/vegan products just to name a few. It also has one of my favourite stalls of all the markets, where you can bring your produce from home to swap with someone else’s. This is such a great idea as so many of us seem to have an abundance of a certain vegetable in our garden and don’t really know what to do with it.
Being a little market, it is very simple to navigate and follows a path, then roadway around to a carpark. It’s easily done with a pram and children hanging off your arms and I have always managed to grab a parking space within twenty metres of the market, which is such a big win. Why not pop over to the bakery across the road for a coffee afterwards, or walk across the main road to the delightful Woodend Children’s Park?
