What: Don’t want to cook but want a delicious, affordable family-friendly dinner? Look no further. Dhaba at the Mill is a restaurant in Kyneton which offers reasonably priced, delicious Indian cuisine the whole family can enjoy. The Dhaba Food Truck also serves Mount Macedon and Gisborne with takeaway on Fridays between 5 and 8 pm and is available for catering events.

We saw families of all shapes and sizes in the restaurant. On Sunday Buffet Night littlies under 5 years old eat for free, 5 to 15 years old eat for $15 and adults, $25. With two teenage boys, and a fussy tween, it was a perfect for us as everyone could choose what they wanted and eat as much as they liked. There were also vegetarian and gluten free options available. The restaurant is open from Thursday to Sunday from 5 o’clock to 9 o’clock.

Where: The restaurant is located at 18 Piper Street in Kyneton and the Dhaba Food Truck is parked outside the Gisborne Collision Centre on Fridays.

Rating on the kid-friendly scale: Dhaba at the Mill has kid-friendly food options at an affordable price (children under 5 eat free on the Sunday buffet night), there are high chairs available and space to navigate a pram if needed. There are no nappy change facilities but there are accessible toilets.

The best bit: We loved that the Sunday buffet meant that everyone could choose what they liked and have as much as they wanted.

You must try: The Butter Chicken was the hands down favourite for our family and the roti bread was similarly moreish.

Make a day of it: Head for dinner after a shop along Piper Street, a visit to the nearby Kyneton Botanical Gardens and Kyneton Community Park, or a hike at Black Hill Reserve. We love the Ridge and Circuit Walks.
