Storytime Sessions

Attending storytime sessions are a wonderful way to meet other people with children around the same age, not to mention all the benefits of the storytime itself for your child: hearing a variety of stories, rhymes and songs; joining in by singing, clapping and doing actions when being led by the facilitator; learning how to be a good listener and take turns; understanding how books and stories work.

There are a few places where you can enjoy storytime sessions in the Macedon Ranges, including at our local libraries, Gisborne, Kyneton, Romsey and Woodend; Mother Goose and Dromkeen.

Goldfields Libraries: Our local libraries have set storytimes for different age groups but are also available at any time for families to meet up and use the many facilities available (kitchen, wifi, outdoor area, tables and so on). We suggest checking out the Goldfields website to find the appropriate storytime session for your child (depending on their age) and following the Macedon Ranges Libraries Facebook page, to be up to date on any last minute changes. All these storytime sessions are free.

Mother Goose Storytime: Sunbury Cobaw Community Health runs this free program for parents/carers and their 0 – 6 year olds in Gisborne on Monday mornings, Romsey on Tuesday afternoons and in Kyneton on Thursday mornings.  Registrations are essential, call Tracey Thiele on 5421 1666 or email tracey.thiele@scchc.org.au.

Dromkeen Saturday storytime: Enjoy an hour of storytime with activities from 2 pm on the first Saturday of each month. Follow the Dromkeen Facebook page to keep up to date with which book will be featured. This storytime is also free of charge.

White Goose Book exchange: This Storytime has been paused for the moment. We will keep you up to date if it returns.
