Tom’s Park, Sunbury

What: This is a little playground which packs a lot of punch. There’s an epic slide, inbuilt trampolines, climbing frames, an area for younger kids, tables and benches under shelter, and a great big grassy patch where you can kick the footy or have a picnic.

Where: Tom’s Park is on the city-side of Sunbury, corner of Budhurst and Rosenthal Boulevard in the Rosenthal Estate, not far from Bunnings if you are heading that way.

The best bit: The consensus was unanimous, the big slide is the best bit!

Picnic or cafe: Pack some snacks and you can picnic on the tables under the shelter in the park, or take a blanket and spread out on the grassy area alongside it. Alternatively, head into Sunbury for a bite at one of the many local cafes after a play.

Toilets: There are no toilets at the park so go before you go. Otherwise, the Rosenthal Shopping Centre is just a minute drive away down the road.

Make a day of it: Other great places to check out in Sunbury include: The Nook, Spavin Drive Dam or Emu Bottom Wetlands for a relaxing walk; and Galaxy Playground for more fun.
