What: This delightful playground is surrounded by gum trees and lush grass. There is an area for the kids to run around or kick a ball, as well an undercover barbecue area and plenty of picnic tables. If you come from the first car park, you will cross a little bridge over the creek to get to the playground area. It is a lovely, peaceful place to escape to and looks up to the glorious Mount Macedon.

Where: Stanley Park Playground is the first left turn off Bingarra Lane when you head towards Mount Macedon from city side.

The best bit: It is less than a hundred metres from the playground to view the Stanley Park Waterfall from above.

Picnic or cafe: There is no cafe within an easy walking distance so pack a picnic. Luckily, it is the perfect place for that.

Toilets: The toilet block is situated at the first car park.

Make a day of it: Walk down to the waterfall after a play, or head on up the mountain to visit the Memorial Cross, Camel’s Hump or Sanatorium Lake.
