Kruze4Kids Good Friday Appeal: This fundraiser is a show and family day from 10 am at Langama Park in Sunbury on 18 April. There will be market stalls, food and coffee vans, kids animal petting zoo and more.

Gisborne Village Shopping Centre: Take the kids for some rock painting, fish tank, herb garden or Easter craft activities these school holidays between 10 am and 2 pm. Meet the Easter Bunny on Saturday 19 April between 11 am and 2 pm.

Myths and Legends Storytime and Arts and Crafts: On Thursday 10 and 17 April from 10.30 to 11.30 am is Storytime for children of any age and includes stories, face painting, games, fairy treats and wishes. On the same days between 1 pm to 4 pm is a 3 hour arts and crafts session for school aged children. Bookings must be made via phone only on: 5428 4802.

Daylesford Spa Railway: Daylesford’s train rides are on running every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday these school holidays. Enjoy a fun family day out, especially if you have little ones who love trains. They will also run across the Easter weekend. The railway is also dog friendly. Bookings are now available online.

Maze House: Have some amazing fun at Maze House, which is located in between Creswick and Daylesford. Find the clues in the maze to win the prize. There are also various old carnival games to try out. Be sure to book to secure your place.

Goldfields Libraries Activities: Macedon Ranges Libraries has a range of amazing sessions running over the school holidays for your kids. These include: creating and colouring a First Nations Easter Basket; Felt Easter Egg creation; Easter rock painting; Bunny Potrait crafting; and “This is not an egg’ craft (inspired by the book of that name. There is also a magic show, a display of work by young artists at Woodend library, and the showings of the movies Runt and Moana 2. Autumn FestivalThe Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival has begun. Children may like to complete the Treasure Trail through our best playgrounds and gardens. Or take a trip as a family and try out the Edgy Veg or Pie Trail dishes across the shire.

Kyneton and Gisborne Aquatic Centre Inflatable Fun: Inflatable fun is back for the school holidays at the pool. Enjoy a swim and a play at the same time on alternating weekdays. See the image below for which centre has inflatable fun on which day.

Woodend Neighbourhood House: Book your child in for some affordable school holiday fun. There’s Imaginary Insect crafting, drama workshops, yoga for various ages, suncatcher creating and an Easter Craft workshop. Book at www.woodendnh.org.au or call 5427 1845.

Kyneton Community House: Wedgetail Studio is running an arts program for young people at Kyneton Community House these school holidays. Click here to view the various art classes and to book your child’s space.

Sunbury Square Shopping Centre: Meet the Easter Bunny and Alice on Monday 14 April from 11 am to 2 pm. Then drop in on Wednesday 9 April for Easter Egg Stained Glass Craft, or Tuesday 15 April for Bunny Mask Craft. See below image for further details.

Dromkeen Cartooning Workshop and Easter storytime: Get the kids practising their cartooning skills at the Dromkeen Holiday Cartooning Workshop on Tuesday 8 April. Sessions run for one hour. Easter Storytime is on Saturday 5 April at 2 pm and there will be a craft activity as well.

Creative Writing Workshop: Local writer and editor, Kat Buttigieg, is running a creative writing workshop at Patch n Quilt in Gisborne on Tuesday 8 April from 1 pm to 3 pm. The first hour focuses on poetry and the second on short story writing. There will be lots of prompts to get you brainstorming and writing. Participants are invited to share but it is not compulsory. Bring your favourite notebook and pens. (The workshop is recommended for children aged 8 to 14 years old).

Old Auction House: Keep the kids entertained these school holidays with Art & Craft at The Old Auction House in Kyneton. Best day or weekend trips from the Ranges: If you are after a full day out of fun, check out our blog on our favourite destinations outside of the Macedon Ranges.
