Kruze4Kids Good Friday Appeal: This fundraiser is a show and family day from 10 am at the Sunbury United Football Club. There will be market stalls, food and coffee vans, kids animal petting zoo and more.

Fallen Freight Easter Fun: Fallen Freight in Gisborne is hosting a special Easter event on Saturday 30 March, with kids fun activities from 10 am to 1 pm (Easter Bunny, Easter Hunt, Easter Crafts, Face Painting). They are closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday but open again on Monday 1 April.

Gisborne Village Shopping Centre: Meet the Easter Bunny on Saturday 30 March from 11 am to 2 pm and enter the Easter Egg Giveaway Competition, just guess how many Easter eggs they have in their display. The winner will be drawn at 2 pm on Saturday 20 March. Each week of the holidays there are activities running from 10 am to 1 pm.


Myths and Legends Storytime and Arts and Crafts: On Thursday 4 April from 10.30 to 11.30 am is Storytime for children of any age and includes stories, face painting, games, fairy treats and wishes. On Thursday 11 April from 1 pm to 4 pm for school age children is a 3 hour arts and crafts session from 1 pm which includes afternoon tea. Bookings must be made via phone only on: 5428 4802.


Daylesford Spa Railway: Daylesford’s train rides are on this Easter weekend, running across Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Sundayl. Enjoy a fun family day out, especially if you have little ones who love trains. The school holiday timetable includes extra sessions on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The railway is also dog friendly. Bookings are now available online.
Maze House: Have some amazing fun at Maze House, which is located in between Creswick and Daylesford. Find the clues in the maze to win the prize. There are also various old carnival games to try out. Be sure to book to secure your place.
Goldfields Libraries Activities: Macedon Ranges Libraries has a range of amazing sessions running over the school holidays for your kids including: Introduction to Scratch (program); Stop Motion Animation; create your own insect from clay; author talks; drop in activities (Gruffalo Hunt, Funky Necklaces and Bag Tags, Science Lab); and movie sessions of Paw Patrol and Wonka. Autumn Festival: The Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival commences in the second week of school holidays. Children may like to complete the Treasure Trail accompanied by a parent or guardian or complete the Colouring in Competition with entries to be submitted to the Festival Information Hub (Woodend Visitor Information Centre) during the Festival dates of 5 April to 28 April.
Kyneton and Gisborne Aquatic Centre Swim Intensive Programs and Inflatable Fun: Inflatable fun is back for the school holidays at the pool. Enjoy a swim and a play at the same time on alternating weekdays. See the image below for which centre has inflatable fun on which day.


Woodend Neighbourhood House: Book your child in for some affordable school holiday fun. There are Drama and Paper Making workshops for children from Prep to Grade Six and a Community Lunch which the whole family can enjoy. Book at www.woodendnh.org.au or call 5427 1845.

Kyneton Community House: Wedgetail Studio is running an arts program for young people with Ice Cream Art, Geometric Abstract Collage and Yarn Wrapped Letters sessions, just to name a few of the exciting activities. See the below image for class details and click here to book your child’s place.

Kids Creative Building Jam: From Monday 8 April to Wednesday 10 April at Kyneton Town Hall, artist and designer Anna Åkerlund, is facilitating 2 hour workshops for 100 children (6 to 13 year olds) in dreaming up and creating a structure from recycled materials. The grand creation will be able to be viewed by the public after the final workshop. Click here to book your child’s spot.

Sunbury Square Shopping Centre: Meet the Easter Bunny Thursday 28 March or drop in throughout the holidays between 11 am and 2 pm for Basket Decorating, Egg Decorating and Face Painting or Bonnet Decorating. See below image for further details.

Steps Performing Arts: Do you have a young performer in your house? Steps Performing Arts is hosting school holiday workshops with something for everyone including: Mindful movement, Taylor Swift Day, Barbie Day, Jazz and Contemporary Dance and Mini Movers. Gentle Sensory Holiday Program: Gentle Sensory has created a holiday program to support children in exploring their sensory systems, relationship building and confidence. Interval Art: There are still some spots left in the Creative Painting sessions from April 11 to 13 but you will need to book by 28 March. Over three 60 min sessions students will be taken through the process of developing an idea to paint then transferring that idea onto a 16 x 20 inch canvas with a frame.

Forme Pilates: In need of some exercise these Easter holidays but have little ones in tow? Forme Pilates in Woodend runs a midday class on Wednesdays which parents can bring their children along to. There is an inviting space in the room for the kids to play while their parents work out.
Best day or weekend trips from the Ranges: If you are after a full day out of fun, check out our blog on our favourite destinations outside of the Macedon Ranges.
